Would you date someone who had a questionable reputation (rumored to sleep around, illtempered/violent, illegal activity, superficial, golddigging, untrustworthy, etc., etc.), even if you hadn't seen any of this first hand to know that it was – or wasn't – true?

I try not to be judgemental and let people show me their true colors rather than rumors speaking for them. But with a son, I would have to think about the types of risks I am taking in dating someone with a bad reputation and would probably keep my distance romantically.

I don't date but I do have sex with ppl whom I know have questionable reputations, sleep around are illtempered/violent engage in illegal activity and a few that are superficial. Who's to judge?

Well, I have before....and their 'questionable reputation' wasn't the reason we broke up. So I won't say that I won't listen to what other people say about him, but I don't use that as a criteria for not giving someone a chance or the time of day. I'd have to get to know you for myself.

It would depend on what the reputation was and if is was true. If it was something in the past and the person had truly moved on would also be another factor

Been there and done that. If somebody has a bad reputation then chances are there's a legit reasoning behind it and I rather not be bothered.

I absolutely would date someone with a bad reputation. Listening and conforming to gossip is stupid and it's for lazy fools who don't want to take the time to form their own opinion. If I dated a man with a bad rep, I'd personally see for myself if any of this reputed stuff was true before listening to anyone else.
