    The strongest thing I've taken is melatonin and it does really work for me. Wait - I'm telling a lie. I did take Excedrin PM once.

    A couple of times, I don't really like them when I wake up in the morning I feel like I have a hangover.

    Benadryl, but rarely. It takes me 4 cups of coffee and 12 hours before I am fully off its effects.

    Oh yeah, every nite I have cereal and milk as a sleep aid. The calcium in the milk does something to nerve endings making you tired.

    When I had the chickenpox I took Benadryl to stop the itching, it also conked me out at night...but not for long, after about 4 or 5 nights a reverse effect kicked in and I started waking up at 3 in the morning.

    yea this stuff called simply sleep...or sometimes the generic version.

    i used to work A LOT, with 3 job, my sleep pattern was all messed up, sometimes i just could not go to sleep when i needed... so it did help.

    co-signs this is why I hate them. I'll only do it if I've battled insomnia several night in a row. Even then I don't want to do it. Just choosing the lesser of the two evils.

    That's what I always used to take, too, when I couldn't sleep. I'd pop a couple of Benadryls and that usually made me pass out.

    I suffer from insomnia and have been taking Unisom for years. It's stronger than Benadryl.

    I don't take it very often, mostly reserve it for when I have a head cold as I'm allergic to most cold medicines.

    I only take on 25 mg tab. I took 2 once and I was so knocked out I nearly aspirated. Luckily I woke up in time to roll onto my stomach and clear my throat. Also, it gives me a tight feeling in my prostate. I am very sensitive to Benadryl.

    Yeah - I do on occasion. Problem is, my allergy medication will leave me drowsy, so if I take it during the day, I get tired when I don't want to be. It's fine if I'm going to bed, though.
