The last movie I watched was "Holiday Inn", which was made in the early 1940's. Pretty good film! Sort of corny, but I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

The Mistress of the Spices, it was a very odd movie but it brought me in
when I started watching it. A very beautiful Indian actress had the
lead part. I actually liked the movie.

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
I don't get to see movies in the theater that often but last night my wife and I saw Going the Distance with Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. I'm not sure how to classify it. A chick-flick with balls? Yeah there were some scenes that tried to tug on your heart strings but there was enough raunchy humor to make it worth my while.

You didn't take it seriously did you? I found it was a fun movie to watch but totally absurd - like Salt and many others. I just enjoyed watching so many good actors play off each other.alan smithee wrote:Last movie I saw in a theater was RED. Not the worst movie of all time but kind of disappointing

No, I didn't. Much of my disappointment was watching so many good actor's talents wasted. I don't dwell on things like (spoiler here) when John Malcovich (in western gunfight fashion) shoots the RPG almost equidistant between him and their attacker yet she's the one vaporized by the blow back. But the punchline to that scene is Bruce Willis telling him, "nice shot" and Malcovich's only reply is, "thanks." Kind of lame. That's just one example. I think this is one of those movies that you see the best things it has to offer in the trailers. I've convinced myself that it probably would have been much better if it were rated R.
I did find it a little amusing that John Malcovich played a similar character in Clint Eastwood's "In the Line of Fire". There he's a CIA wet work agent who the powers that be decide is too dangerous to live and after they fail to kill him, he decides to assasinate the President of the U.S. He was outstanding in that.

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
Last 5 Films watched....
The White Ribbon -- Excellent film. Haneke is at the top of his game. This movie is a very human drama with very extreme situations. The story is flawlessly told and very engaging. Just a couple of minor set backs for me, but the film is near perfect. Haneke's use of no musical soundtrack works great. The music you hear is that of on-scre...en, which is more than any other of his films. The way scenes are drawn out lets you feel the sorrow and/or pain of the characters. And I do recommend watching this with headsets on. Every sound effect draws the viewer into this world just as much as the picture. Every village has their secrets.
--4.5 Stars-- (out of 5 Stars always)
Rampage -- Crazy movie directed by world infamous bad director Uwe Boll. But I gotta say that this movie is entertaining, though brutal. The shaky camera got on my nerves a bit but overall its solid. --3 Stars--
Pierrot Le Fou -- The essence of cool. This film has beautiful scenery, women and cinematography. Must see in Widescreen to get the full effect. Brings the viewer to a time that no longer exists; the French 60s. --5 Stars- Excellent.
Blade Runner: The Final Cut -- Even the amazing visuals couldn't save this film from its weak detective story and confusing scenery. I watched the director's cut of Blade Runner 10 years ago and didn't like it. Then returned to it again in this Final Cut. And still nothing. This movie is such a missed opportunity. The look is cool, but that is about... it. It's neo noir style is all it has going for it. The film is dark (picture-wise), confusing, and not entertaining nor engaging. I think this is Ridley Scott's one film that he just couldn't get right (hence the 3 different cuts).
--2.5 Stars--
The Last Picture Show -- An American 70s film about sex and people, set in a small Texas town in the 50s. Masterful in every way. (..including the B/W film and lighting..)
--4 Stars--
