If you come from a large family, how bossy were your older siblings while growing up, and to this day? If you're the oldest, how much authority do you exert over your younger siblings?

In your family, did the oldest sibling(s) boss the younger ones, and if they did were they obeyed?

My brother and I were the two youngest in the family, so it was just us growing up, and he being older was ALWAYS trying to boss me around and I learned to rebel against him pretty early on, and I got in a lot of trouble because I never did what I was told, and even today it's still the same thing, he's always trying to tell me what to do, and I in turn am bossing him around and pushing him around.

Well, since it was just me and my brother growing up, I was pretty much the boss of him. I used to have him doing my chores and bringing my kool-aid and food in bed. That's what being a big sister is all about.

Just me and my sister and I was five years older. We lived in a household of rules, so we each did our required thing - no bossing. Actually we each went our own separate way most of the time and I don't recall much interaction.
Now she is the responsible one in Missouri and I am the flake Son/Brother/Uncle who lives in Miami Beach.

my oldest sister wasn't too bossy, we'd listen to her, like when my mom would work late, my sister would be the one to cook for us. sometimes we'd put up a fight to do dishes after. she was a cool older sister, one i looked up to.

My oldest sister was the one usually put in charge when we'd be left alone in the house, and she wasn't too bossy. She would play the whole 'Mom said to…' card. My second older sister was bossier, but the two of us had such a rivalry growing up that I wouldn't take her attempts to dominate seriously.

I'm the oldest and yeah I boss them around! My 1/2 sibs anyway. My full brother & sister are close to me in age so theres no much authority room.
