    Respect, loyalty, sensitivity, kindness, compassion, compromise and love. She also taught me that it is best to earn something rather than have it handed down to you.

    How be hard-working and independent and never rely on anybody, especially a man, to provide and take care of you. My mother worked here and there when I was baby, but she pretty much was a housewife until I was like 10. After she and my father broke up, she went back to school, got her degree, worked two jobs so she could save to buy a house and land that she could pass down to us and just took care of her business. I admire how she made a great home for me and my brother without my father living there.
