    I read that the definition of conservatism basically goes as follows:

    1. Belief in natural law.
    2. Belief in established institutions.
    3. Preference for liberty over equality.
    4. Suspicion of power - and of human nature.
    5. Belief in exceptionalism.
    6. Belief in the individual.

    I don't really agree with all of them.

    Take 3 for example. Preference for liberty over equality? As if you can have equality without liberty. (Unless you count equally miserable. lol)

    And that's just a drive-by review. I am sure the many opposing views here will have a field day with jokes and spins on this. But either way, this list = weak.

    Suspicion of power? - Yet thru the power of religion and government, which they control, they countermand human nature. So, they lie (but that is no secret)

    Preference for Liberty? Hah, Yeah right. As long as it is their liberty and they are allowed to deny others' liberty. Go light up a joint in public view. That often drunk on his ass conservative will put you in the slammer for it. No, they do not support equality - that part is right.

    It ususally depends on your political persausion to begin with. So called "conservatives" would probably link the word to this scene Definition of 'Conservatism' NR4Want
    and liberal to this one.
