The prediction for the next two days is a tropical system hanging over us with constant rain and occasional storms. Guess I'm gonna be inside this weekend. Hope there's a break long enuf to do laundry and bike to the store.

Well, as predicted today is a washout and supposed to get worse tomorrow. It is 8 AM, dark and rainy with moments of storming as the outer bands of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Isaac are hitting us. We are in a tropical storm watch and it is supposed to be here by Monday. IDK if I will want to bike into work. I did that years ago but not really worth it.
Altho, after being stuck in the house for two days, it might be a nice diversion biking in 50 MPH wind gusts with sideways rain.

Today we were pretty much under the weather as feeder bands from Tropical Storm Isaac periodically came sweeping across our island, darkening the sky and blowing rain in sideways.
I was resigned to staying in my apartment all day, just looking at the magnificent weather from a dry perch.

Finally got tired of that, put on a plastic poncho, mostly to keep my camera dry and took off to look at the surf, just four blocks away.
On the way a squall hit me and I was leaning into the wind to walk.

By the time I got to the beach my poncho was pretty much history. I could still wrap it around me to keep some rain and sand off, but the hood had ripped and those little snaps had ripped out.
There were a couple guys in the surf when I got to the beach. As usual the blue meanies are going along the beach violating their freedom of risk and telling them to get out of the water.

It seems to be moving west at this time, tho there is a feeder band at this moment blowing outside. It is expected to grow into a hurricane in the Gulf and the Gulf Coast of Florida as well as New Orleans are being threatened.
