There was a poll about it and I'm in with the other 60% of people who say schools SHOULD teach cursive writing.
Now this may be not a new statement but it seems to me bit by bit schools, even up to the 12th grade, are becoming nothing more than glorified baby sitters. Only 13% of students know American history as it is and it's been that way for a while, now they're saying computers are the only concern for communication now because sabes que cursive writing is a relic. Well I've been using cursive since I learned it back in the 3rd grade 14 years ago, to regress back to printing like a kindergartener makes no sense to me and I know that life and a need for communication and writing DOES exist outside of computers and text messaging. I could very easily see it someday becoming 'why teach kids to even print? They write everything on computers now'.
But somebody on a comments page made a point, kids learn cursive in 3rd or 4th grade, so if you spend the next 8 years ONLY writing everything on computers, when you're an adult and have to actually SIGN something, and it looks like it was done by a 6 year old, HOW impressed is your boss or whoever, going to be then?
Everybody else's thoughts?
