I agree with everything you said (regarding the "selfish" bit). You're right, it is not selfish to wish for good health. But my point is it is also not "practical" to wish for such a thing. "Wishing" for anything is not practical because wishing accomplishes nothing on its own (unless you believe in luck, which I don't). It takes action, committment and opertunities to make positive changes happen. "Doing things" that are likely to help you in the future is practical (ie: working out and eating healthy to maintain or achieve good health). An obese person can "wish" he was not obese all day long, but unless he gets off his fat ass and puts down the cheeseburger, his wish will not come true. That's what I mean about wishing not being practical.Nystyle709 wrote:The original topic asked what would be your SELFISH wish. Wishing, wanting or whatever you want to call it, for good health isn't a selfish thing to wish for in the least. Its a very practical thing to wish because there are plenty of people who take care of themselves and still could wind up with cancer or some other terminal disease. You can only hope you dont have to go through the same turmoils as everyone else.
I think some of the folks on here need to look up the definition of the word practical because wishing is actually the antethesis of that word.
