| i was watching a documentary last night that showed two different families who found very large pythons in their toilets (happened in Florida). So then I went on youtube to see if it has happened to anyone else, and there are a few videos on there showing the snakes in the toilet and one even crawls back down the drain.
My question is this: Do you check the toilet before you use it?

| Not when I get up in the middle of the night to pee, but I might have to now! | |

| I used to be a tad paranoid about that after I read something about it. I still check though...I live with a 12 year old boy, I have to check for flushing! | |

| I think I once heard about something similar involving snakes (or possibly rats) that somehow managed to crawl their way up someone's plumbing, and when they lifted the toilet lid they were greeted with the creatures. LOL
I almost never put the toilet lid down, so when I use the bathroom my eyes will make close enough contact with the bowl to know if some kind of vermin is there.

| Well, I close my toilet lid, then flush, then open when its done so I'd see if anything is in there before I use it. But for the most part....I don't think I would have to worry about snakes up here. | |

Yep, our now naturalized fauna. Add that to the alligator in the swimming pool and 4-foot iguanas eating your hibiscus flowers. (that doesn't even make news any more).
Usually the ones in the toilet escape from another apartment and slither thru the pipes. No telling where the rats come from. My toilet seat is up all the time so if one came in thru the bathroom plumbing it would likely be on the floor. At least I keep my bathroom door shut during then night.
