I got a ticket before I got my license!! 
The reason why I got my license in first place was cuz I got a ticket. I was about 20, I got pulled over for whatever reason, might have been speeding. I was given a warning for that, but a ticket for driving with no license, so court gave me 30 days to get my license so that the charges would be dropped.

You got a friendly cop/judge. I bet they would have thrown my black ass in jail for that.

That was 10 years ago, now if your pulled over with no license, you vehicle automatically gets towed. That's $150 to the popo ,and add whatever towing company has to charge ya, it can cost upto $300 total to get vehicle out. Shit sucks.Marc™ wrote:You got a friendly cop/judge. Add the fines for driving with no license, and whatever the hell you pulled over for in the first place.

About 5 years. Got my license in '63 and first ticket in New Orleans around '68.
Of course, I wasn't driving much for three of those years until I got my first car in '66.

2 yrs later. I was 19 doing 39 in a 35mph zone. The cop gave me a ticket which in NJ would raise my insurance about $400 per year at the time. When I got to court the old guy in front of me was doing 55 in a 25mph zone, and the judge gave him "failure to obey a traffic sign" with a penalty of like $50 and no insurance points. When the judge got to me, I asked for the same, but the judge said, "NO! you get the two points plus the fine. If someone would have been tough on him at your age, he wouldn't be in my court today". It sucked, but in the past 20yrs i have never had another ticket--- and I drive mustangs, so i get pulled over all the time.
