We have found friendliness can vary widely from one end of a state to another. In Georgia, we love costal Georgia, especially around Savannah.
We didn't like most of South Carolina--though folks were friendly, they didn't come across as warm and neighborly towards strangers.
Much of North Carolina has been very neighborly.

IDK about the whole state but when I visit my sister in St. Charles Missouri, I am always conscious of the friendliness of the ppl and the service that is given with real enthusiasm.
