    Do you think the government would attempt to regulate or ban time travel if it were possible? Do you think it would be something worthy of a ban?

    If it were possible to actually travel too and interact with a past time, then yes it would have to be tightly controlled. (and who says we can trust governments to do the right thing.)

    All time travel fiction has express guidelines (usually broken in the story) not to interfere with the timeline. You know the butterfly effect.

    They probably would place severe restriction on it and it would be for the best. If Hollywood time travel stories are to be taken seriously, the results of tampering with the past or future would be too catastrophic.
