I once was going from one window to another on the roof of an old two story bldg in New Orleans and started slipping on the slate. Slid all the way to the edge before stopping. It was only a 40-foot drop to the sidewalk. What was I doing there? I was a 21-year-old guy.
Once, working with disturbed boys in a residential setting (single story homes) one of the boys was on the roof so I had to climb up there and talk to him until he got bored and climbed down. It was kinda peaceful. I understood why he liked it there.

Never been on the roof but I spent the summer hanging out the windows, painting the exterior trim.
