Wayne Levesque is a man with a purpose; to find the largest roach in Apopka. The contest has running the last eight years as a promotion for Levesque’s business, All Seasons Pest Control Inc. The person who brings in the largest roach wins $100.
This year the winner was a student at Wekiva High School where an enthusiastic teacher encouraged his science students to enter their finds.
The winning roach this year was a new record, measuring one and three quarters inch long. …
According to Wikipedia the size range of the American cockroach is 1.1 inch to 1.7 inch.
On Jan 31, 2013, I found a roach belly up on the office floor that looked large enuf to be noteworthy. Looks like a contender at one and three quarters inches.
