    Would you have a problem with government funded religious schools, or should all schools that are religious-based be private?

    I would have a huge problem with government funded religious schools. They should absolutely be private only.

    I don't think I'd trust a religious school run by government.

    They should not be state funded. That would open up a can of worms. What would a school have to do to get funding? That is too open ended.

    co-signs Yeah that sort of establishes a government sponsored religion. Should be unconstitutional.

    Yes I would and thanks to the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, it ain't gonna happen either.

    No I don't think they should be funded by the government. ITA that they should be private only.

    Government shouldn't publicly support anything of a religious nature, that includes schools.

    This debate has been going on for some time and apparently was really big in the 19th century when the Catholic Church was pushing for gov't funding.
