....like, say, a cookie. Do you still eat it? I heard that there's a 5 second rule, where if something drops on the floor/ground, you got 5 seconds before the surrounding germs begin to contaminate it.

i go by 5 sec rule most the time, if its in my own house, but i throw it out if im in public.

Sometimes yes sometimes no. It depends on where I am and what it is I dropped. If it was a cookie and I dropped it on the fairly clean kitchen floor then I may quickly pick it up and still eat it.

Totally agree.
I'll usually eat anything I drop in my own home.
Outside: Never.
At work or at someone other place: Maybe, depends on the situation.

I agree. In doors (at my home) then I usually pick it up and eat it if it was something like a cookie. Outdoors = never.

If the floor is fairly clean and the food is dry so it won't pick up from the floor, then I will usually eat the dropped food.
Not like my tongue hasn't been on nastier things things than a fairly clean floor.
