Meet Darrell Anderson, a Long Island man who probably isn't going to be nominated for any Father of the Year awards in 2011. Early Sunday morning, Mister Anderson was arrested after police say they clocked him driving 118 mph in a drag race with a drunken friend in Ronkokoma. The Post, which has dubbed him "doofus dad," reports that his 7-month-old daughter and 3-year-old son were found in the back seat of his 2001 Honda, and that the boy was not restrained. EXTREME PARENTING!
Anderson, 25, was allegedly "engaging in a speed contest" on the westbound LIE at 2 a.m. Sunday with Darryl Squires, 30, when they were pulled over by a deputy sheriff. Newsday reports that Anderson, who does not have a driver's license, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and engaging in an unlawful speed contest, along with multiple vehicle and traffic charges. His opponent, Squires, was charged with DWI, speeding, and engaging in an unlawful speed contest. At press time, it was unclear who actually won, though we're pretty sure it's not the children.
