How often does milk tend to spoil in your fridge? I just poured a carton out tonight that was a week past its expiration date.

Not usually, we're pretty good to drink it LONG before then.

Re: Spoiled Milk
If I was living alone, then it would probably happen pretty often. Living with roommates and their 2 kids, milk never goes bad in our house.

Re: Spoiled Milk
Unless I am expecting Tenktonese visitors and purposely let it go bad for their enjoyment, I go thru my two gallons of milk a week pretty regularly and it never goes bad.

Re: Spoiled Milk
I poured out some milk yesterday that spoiled while I was out of town. I don't buy by the gallon since it's only just me and even buying by the quart, sometimes the milk goes bad because I haven't drank it. I don't drink milk like that.

Re: Spoiled Milk
I use Lactaid Milk so the shelf life is pretty long. If it goes past expiration I dump it.

Re: Spoiled Milk
Since I've been married, I haven't had to pour any out. When I was living alone, it happened more often. I'll from time to time let it go a few days past the 'sell by' date, but it usually doesn't spoil on me.

My son eats much less cereal than he used to so now it happens more often.

Re: Spoiled Milk
I think it's been almost 4 years since I've had spoiled milk. These days the fresh milk doesn't stay very long
