I wasn't terribly spoiled but when I was it was usually by my maternal grandparents.

I was a kid in the 1940s and '50s. IDK if any kids were spoiled in the "don't spare the rod" days. My dad terrified me and my mom could use a belt on my butt most effectively.
My paternal grandmother let me get away with some childhood stuff and prevented my grandfather (who raised my dad) from tanning my hide.
So, no I was not spoiled as a kid.

Being the youngest of 7 I suppose I was a little spoiled but I still learned how to obtain things on my own, very rarely was anything just handed to me.

my bro and i got everything we ever wanted. our dad died when we were two and three... so my mom overcompensated. We weren't "spoiled" though. she made us share with each other and the neighbor kids. My cousin was spoiled--- she was an only child, and when we would go visit, she would hide her toys from us. by the time we were 10, she would tell the kids near her that her "big cousin" would come beat them up! lol spoiled spoiled spoiled

In certain ways. People certainly thought I was, although most of what they witnessed was ADHD behavior. My parents spoiled me in certain ways, but held me way back in others. It was strange.
