There are breeds of dragons alive today but they're not the great big flying fire breathing things everybody associates them with, more like lizards. But who knows? It does remind me of one of my favorite quotes from the Christmas episode of the Addams Family:

The dragons that you're prob. thinking about are fictional. However, they were based upon the dinosaurs....who of course, were real animals. The Komodo "dragon" is a real animal, but it's a lizard.

Since there are no remnants, such as hide or bones or even a scale it pretty much looks like dragons are just myth and are only real in my DVD collection which has about 4 movies with dragons.

The word "dinosaur" was invented in the 1800's do describe the fossilized remains of "terrible lizards" of enormous size. These creatures were previously described and depicted as "dragons" in various cultures from all across the world for centuries. In the bible, dinosaurs are referred to as" leviathan", "behemoth" and "dragon" depending on what kind of dinosaur it was.
