That was great; even Seal (who I'm not that big a fan of) impressed me.

Donna's an excellent singer. Because she's known as a dance/disco diva, and not for ballads, I don't think she ever gets the credit she deserves for being able to belt her ass off.

Yeah. She had a couple of ballads during her career which were pretty good but the dance stuff is what sells. Everytime she cuts a new record it always sells though!

One of my favorites of hers. That whole album is a concept album, Spring Affair, Summer Fever, Autumn Changes and Winter Melody. Good album.

I admit that I'm not that educated on Donna Summer's music, but I don't like songs like this and Love To Love You when she does that seductive baby talk voice. She sounds better when she sings in her usual full tone.

yeah... and they gave her one damn paragraph!!! but we STILL have to hear about whitney (tv shows, now books) who overdosed and basically killed herself... but this woman dies of cancer--- no control of her own, and most articles are one paragraph

Hopefully by tomorrow she will get the recognition she deserves, she was a woman who changed the course of disco with her tremendous voice and her one sided story telling albums that were so good they went platinum.

Very sad day for Tony this is sad

This is the first song I heard of Donna's when I was a kid, my sister used to play her music and I became aware of her with this song. After that, I played every Donna Summer song I could get my hands on. I used to dance with my sister to her music and I never got tired of listening to her. When i was a bit older I collected everything I could find on vinyl and cd.

Thank you for the music Donna:

Once upon a time, there was a girl she lived in the land of never-never where everything real is unreal and only fairy tales come true something like me and you

But she believed that what she dreamed of could be real so she strived on to make it come true fighting odds, not knowing what would come of her never giving up the hope within her She carried on and on, because she believed that once, once in a time in her lifetime the things so unreal would be real
And in the morning, one day when she awoke to find herself surrounded by the same old room she was disappointed

So she dreamed and she dreamed and she dreamed and she dreamed and she dreamed and she said that fairy tales do come true 'cause I believe, I believe

And she kept trying, and she kept right on fighting till one day she met a man who held her tight and she fell in love

Once upon a time, in the land of never-never where all things real are unreal there lived a girl who believed that all things could be possible

And one day she did awake and found herself somewhere else beside her a brand new face of someone that she loved

    Lyrics by Donna Summer
