This was what was up today....My son had a presentation to do for school. It was a "how to" presentation and he had permission to do it on his unicycle riding. The bus driver gave him permission to bring it on. But this morning, there was a sub who refused him boarding. She was just following the rules, but should have been flexible since he did have prior permission.

Bummer, Red. Did he make it? I guess he's feeling better?

Thanks for asking about how he is feeling...yeah, he went back today for the first time and the throat is still a bit sore, but not too bad now. He did not get on the bus. She would not let him, yet did not bother to ask if anyone would be at his home when he returned. His dad had to leave the job site to drive him. So, I had to call the school to make sure he could board for his trip home. As it turned out, she tried to refuse him again, but then he told her he had permission, and she called the principal and found out she should let him get on.

Then the stupid lady gave him two big suckers and said, "Your unicycle is so cool" before she dropped him off. I really, really despise kids being handed candy as a reward or apology. Yet he came in with two suckers.

Sorry...I could go on and on about anything to do with busing in this district....no matter who drives the big yellow bullet, they all suck.

That sounds like a huge fiasco! I'm glad that she finally called someone and asked. Was he happy with the way his performance went?

He won't get the grade until Monday, but he feels confident. We shall see...

He is straight A, and we even got a letter from the school Tuesday saying he is doing as well, with principal, and associate principal signing.
