Which would you rather be in? A bad relationship or no relationship?

I've been in both. No relationship is really tough. It means either doing everything alone or dating repeatedly, hoping to click with someone. For some people that may come naturally but for others of us it doesn't.

But I've been in bad relationships also. You know, the kind where you feel totally trapped and start fantasizing about what it would be like to be single and meeting other guys or at least just not living with that deadbeat of a bf. I've been in a relationship also that wasn't terrible, but I just had trouble staying in love.

The thing about the sort of bad relationships is that theoretically you could work on them. But trying to find Mr. Right when you're alone means starting all over and could mean never finding him.

What's your choice?

For me no relationship would be the better of the two. Being alone is sad. But being in a bad relationship where there's so much stress & misery can be almost unbearable.

I've been in three relationships in my life: 6 month, 5 year, 18 year. They all ended, some quicker than others.

I am pretty self sufficient. I am not miserable because I am single, been this way half my adult life and enjoy it.

I would not put up with a bad relationship so being single is preferable.

No relationship. It can be hard that way, but I'd rather be alone than be IN bad a relationship.

I'd rather be alone than in a bad relationship. There can be unhappiness when I'm alone, but I can handle it better than being with some jerk. A bad relationship can truly be unbearable.

The difference between being unhappy single and unhappy in a relationship is that when you're single and unhappy, the most you ever get is lonely. When you're in a relationship and unhappy, you straight up miserable. To me it's obvious which one is worse.
