Not usually. I check out their profile, but my Facebook is mostly friends I know IRL and family (some I've never met IRL).
It is in my real name and so I try to keep it limited to ppl I know something about. Yeah, there are ppl I only know from forum boards - but I know them more than the relatives I have in my friends.

But no, I don't accept them if I don't know them, unless they write me a note and they have a good reason like "My friend suggested we be friends because I live in the same town as you and have twins too..." or something like that.

When I first got on Facebook, I was more interested in having a big friends list and accepted random requests. Then getting all of those status updates from people I don't know became tedious, so I went through my list and hacked away most of the people on it who I didn't know. Now it's not likely that I will accept any request from unfamiliar names, unless we share mutual friends.

It depends on how interesting I think they're profile looks. What I hate is getting friend requests from people who have no picture, no wall posts and so forth. When it's obvious that they are just trying to add me to increase their friends count and I for the most part ignore those.
