What kind of music did your parents listen to when you were a kid? Do you like any of it yourself now?

Re: Your parents music tastes.
My parents came of age in the 70s, and so they like a lot of 70s and early 80s music. And yeah....the older I get, the more I start to appreciate what they are also into. I get so I like a lot of 70s music now, even though I couldn't stand it when I was a kid.

My parents like Rock and Roll and adult contemporary like Jerry Vale and Frank Sinatra and of course they loved Italian Music. I do like their type of music today.

Re: Your parents music tastes.
My mom listened to oldies and my dad never listens to music or if he does it's just classical crap...not a lot of room for my own tastes growing up because I liked the newer stuff...and now my mom has sort of traded off oldies for country but my dad's still the same, hates music as almost a whole.

Re: Your parents music tastes.
A lot of soul music. I liked it then and I like it now. Me and my folks have similar tastes in music so it never was a problem. I liked what they liked and vice versa, except for a few exceptions. My dad was the musical connoisseur though. He likes folks like Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, John Lee Hooker, Bruce Springsteen, etc. I didn't like Neil Diamond when I was a kid, but he grew on me later. Pops also turned me on to MJ and Bruce.
