    This may sound crazy, but this is what I think. I said it out loud to someone for the first time this weekend, and he thought I was nuts to think this.

    I am 35. I truly have no idea on what retirement will be like for me. One thing I suspect is that we will see more people in 30 years merging homes. Like two retired couples sharing a home.

    Like one couple will have a little bit more of a nest egg, but not enough, and will take in another couple that did not plan well enough, or could not save enough.

    Has anyone thought anything like this ?

    I have no idea what the retirement climate will be like when I'm that age, but I will say that I don't think my generation is at all prepared for it the way my parents (and grandparents) were.

    I agree. Personally, I'm already socking money away for retirement but I know most 27 yrs old aren't thinking about it. Which is unfortunate since it looks like Social Security might not be there by the time my generation reaches that age.
