How did your parents react when...

you told told them you were moving out?

My Mama was upset my Dad helped me pack.

My mom was sad. My dad was too, but didn't show it.

LOL, me and my mother are just alike and during my later years of living with her, we clashed pretty often. I remember telling her I was moving and she didn't show any emotion at all. It was just whatever. No 'good luck', 'where you going'....none of that. And I remember calling her about a week after I left and she acted like she wasn't that interested in talking to me. It's funny now though....our relationship is A LOT better since I left her house. We get along better and we talk way more often than we did when I was living with her. She be blowing up my phone all the time. I know she misses me and has been igging me to move down to Florida with her but I don't know. If I do live with her, I damn sure won't be able to stay there long and would have to get my own place eventually. I know it won't be long before we clash again.

Not well. Long and boring story.

My dad was ok with the news. My mom was upset, but it took me months to finally leave and by the time I did, she was ready for me to be gone.

I moved away for college, so they got used to my being gone. After college when I came back home, I told them I would be moving in with a friend. They were a little taken back but they handled it.

It was 2 weeks before my mother knew I was gone.

My mom was sort of upset but dealt with it. I wound up moving back a year later and she said she knew I would. LOL
