Last week I was at the library searching through the travel books for some general research for a story I'm writing, found one on Brazil and one on South America, these are the only two books about these locations, and they're as old as I am. Seriously, why are these still there when they've over 20 years old and the travel spots have most likely changed at least SOME during that time?

Our library is not in need of any updates, as far as I think.
We were just there and I was shocked that they had updated and gotten so many more DVDs. I think it is great they offer DVDs but I don't know that they need to budget so much from them. The even have video game system games, and I don't think that is something they should provide.
So, I guess my issue is taking away, not updating!

I have no idea. The only time I go to the library these days is to drop off books we're donating.

Our city library is a joke. It's just a daytime holding cell for homeless people. Seriously, they have to have an armed officer patrolling the building.
And then the books....oh man, the books. You have to catch fiction books early. And the non-fiction books are always 10 years old or better. And then they wonder why our inner-city youth are so slow.

Kind of sounds like Shawshank when the guy had to write for 6 years to get them an updated library with current books for the inmates so they'd have an idea of the outside world when they finally got out.
