The very first time; when you lost your virginity so to speak. Do you remember the very first time you logged on to the World Wide Web? Do you remember the first website you ever experienced?

It was probably the MSN site since that was the IP at the time. Can't remember the first one I checked out though. Been a long time.

It probably would have been a janet site. I didn't really know what to do once I got on, only thing I ever searched for was Janet sites.

My first was on AOL....and their "Entertainment" channel. I remember that shit used to look like a Jeopardy screen, with a bunch of different categories.

Yep. My first place on AOL wad the folder Music Space. And was in the days of dial up.....before they upgraded it. I remember when it took FOREVER for that fucking dial up to go through. You could be waiting for like 30 mins or more.

Yeah I was in college. I think the first thing I did when I got online that first time was check out the chatrooms. Back then IRC was big too.

Netcom was my IP and I logged on to America On Line. I didn't even know how to use a web browser but I remember going into the chat rooms on AOL.

Yep. It was around 1995 in Gainesville Florida and I was on Usenet thru an account with the Alachua County Public Library System. My computer with 4 MB of RAM couldn't support anything except text, but that was what I was there for, to send articles for publication and to post on forum boards.
At least I had an internal modem and didn't have to put my fone receiver in an external cradle.

Before MIcrosoft word (used First Choice) What were there? Like 100 websites? YAhoo was the big search engine. The had classifieds and even an auction. Dog Pile and Alta Vista were the competetion for Yahoo. Angel Fire has free web hosting and everyoen was trying to get a one page web site up and running.
Still have my email account from my first provider--a local comapany out of Ypsilanti Michigan--Provide Net.

I think it was in '96, and I've no clue of the first site I went into. But back then I used to research a lot of travel info.
