Make sure that your car has a fresh battery, locked and your keys are in your pocket

Always check the back seat of your car before getting in.

Never read a book of demon summoning aloud, even as a joke. Do not search the basement, especially if the power has just gone out.

Never be with the group who plays vicious pranks on the shy strange new kid, those pranksters will soon meet their doom and often in a horribly gory way.

Never split up when you are in a large group more than likely you will be killed first.

Screaming is a magnet for the mentally unstable so shut up!

I just saw a tag for a remake of The Cat and the Canary made with Olivia Hussey and it sounds appropriate enough: For God's sake, stay in your rooms and lock the doors!

Also don't sit in front of a mirror in a dark room with only a lit candle in front of you, saying the Lord's prayer, backwards, or "Bloody Mary" three times.

And never, ever, go into the cemetary at night, lay on someone's grave, thinking it's funny while your friend takes your picture.

Oh also, another one, NEVER EVER EVER under ANY circumstances prank call someone and tell them you saw what they did and you know who they are.

NEVER think that after running from the killer for an hour through the woods that you have found security in another person when you find one! It is either the killer, or he/she will be killed before you.

never think it is a good idea to work with genetically engineering salmon, sharks, dinosaurs or other organic creature that will sprout legs/or massive brains and eat you.

never purposely have your family locked into an old creepy house... especially through the winter with no phone lines til spring.

never vote the weird girl with telekinesis as prom queen

never piss off a gypsy, witch, or warlock

never think there is only one anaconda, shark, alligator-- after you kill one there is always more

never let your spouse get in a stranger's truck and drive off
