European cars do encompass German cars. Do you mean Japanese and/or American cars instead of European?

Japanese of course. The only American car I would even think of buying would be a Cadillac.

Foreign cars are better built, but can be a pain to fix if something goes wrong with them. I'm not a flag waver, but I generally like American cars more.

In my family's experience, Japanese cars are just plain better made.

I've had good and bad experiences with both Japanese and American makes of cars but nowadays you can't always be sure of where they're made.
