At what point do women grow the hell up????

My HS class reunion is 2 wks away. I have had 5 messages saying "If ____ says one word to me, I will shove my fist down her throat" type of things.

REALLY?? Ur almost 40 freakin years old!! When the hell u gonna grow up??

I swear to you... I will pick these people up, drag them out, and have them arrested. I'm not kidding.. I'm big enough and strong enough to do it too.

It just baffles me.. we are old enough to be grandmothers now.. its crazy!

Unfortunately some never do, and why that is I don't know, but my grandmother never did and she's 94, all through her motherhood and adult hood and late adulthood she was like a bratty 16 year old, if even that, now she's like 2.

You poor thing....dealing with all the immaturity you have had to with this reunion planning. I am really surprised these women are literally vocalizing their drama to you. There are definitely people who don't care for each other from my class but that would only ever result in ignoring each other.

I told them all... "start shit, and u WILL be arrested. PERIOD"

Not taking this crap from these women! And two of them got into a fight on FB over welfare---that is how their fight started. WTF??

I have no clue when it hits, but honestly, it's very entertaining (to me) to watch! I'm a fan on Basketball & Mob Wives. These woman are about 40 years old and still acting like they're still in high school. I must admit though, their fuckery is a guilty pleasure of mine.




But yea, seriously, I agree with Red. Hope they can contain themselves, so that everyone can have a drama free good time.

See--now there's the rest of the '80/90's doo-dads and party favors you were looking for in your other thread. . .. print up all their recent quotes from those emails onto index cards, pass them out at all the tables and have a "Who Said That" contest. Great party game, and everyone you went to school with can cast their votes, and you'll announce the winners at the end of the evening and give a prize for whoever got the most correct AND it'll embarrass the hell out of the immature skanks who actually said that stuff. W2L, you are a sweat heart to do this. I was the treasurer for our 30th (the Count de Money) and it's no small job. I hope you have help and aren't doing this by yourself. If so, I'm afraid you definetly require psychiatric care.
I hope you never get wind of anyone complaining about the plans you've made on everyone else's behalf. Of course it goes without saying (but I'm saying it anyway), if someone thinks they could have done a better job let them be in charge for the next one. Of course left to people like that, this is would likely be your last reunion. Sorry Chris can't be your date or that you can't fly Red in. (I hear she's a real good time )

I know it's difficult but try and laugh it off. And leave the first chance you get.

I went to my ten year reunion where one of the "popular Penelopes" approached me and asked me if I were marreid. I said "Yes." She asked me where we lived. I told her we lived in the city (a nice area) she looked a little disappointed and told me she lived in a suburb (also a nice area). She asked what my then-husband did (good job) again a bit disappointed (hers also had a good job).
And so on. Match for match.

Finally she asked if I had kids. I told her "No." (by choice although I didn't mention that). She grinned a great big grin and told me proudly that she had THREE! (count 'em, THREE!).

Then she repeated. "You have none, oh well, sometimes it's like that." And walked off with a smug and satisfied smirk on her face. Gee, I guess she "bested" me all right! I half expected her to come back with a "neener, neener."

For some, probably at no point.

Minerva, what a bitch that gal was! Totally comparing notes. I have never understood why so many look at one having no children as some sort of "missing out." Many, such as yourself, opt to not have children and do not feel as though it was a wrong choice.

Somehow this does not shock me. Women - a lot of us, but not all of us - are natural drama queens. That's the way a lot of us are - catty and immature. I hope you decide not to get involved with the drama - if they want to make fools of themselves, let them do so.

I heard a friend say something like that before going to her 10 year reunion. I didn't understand why she would waste time and money going; seems like she has bad blood with a LOT of her former classmates.

(Which is funny considering she always maintains that she was the fun, popular girl in her hometown--something she's NEVER been since I've known her.)

While I don't feel the urge to sock anybody in jaw, I had the feeling I wouldn't have too much fun at class reunions, so I just chose not to go. They can see me doing just fine on facebook.

thanks honey. I was originally the Count de Money--- De Monet De Monet--- but the girls in charge of finding the venue are STUPID! We had 100 ppl pay, at $25 pp cause the girl said "I know the owner who's not charging us for the room, and giving us a break on the appetizers".

It turned out that the room was only big enough to fit about 60 comfortably, and only had seating for 30!!! WTF?? And the appetizers were cheese/crackers/fruit/veggies!!! They wanted $2000 for 100 ppl When I went to put the deposit down after collecting money for 2 months--- I said HELL NO! went and found a caterer who was willing to do a whole buffet including china, silverware, school color linens INCLUDING tax & tip for $20 pp. But then it was $500 for the room I found (which was $800 cheaper than anywhere else). After spending money for a DJ that we were not originally having,ordering balloons and banners, ID badges, and door prizes.. I'm $500 in the hole. So I am doing a 50/50 to recoup some of the costs.

Would you believe the 5 women on the committee haggled with me over having a freakin DJ??? "How are we going to pay for it?" A FRIEND is doing it for $250 for five hours which is DIRT cheap! And they wanted to argue over it.

I just took control over the whole thing, and am working a lot of overtime in this check to have the $500 extra. This way, whatever money I recoup is nice... but since I paid for the remainder... anyone who does not like what I did can go screw themselves.

Because I was the one contacting everyone and collecting the money originally... I was the one receiving the complaints about the original place it was to be held. Since we changed venues, people have actually THANKED me for changing it.

HOWEVER... the committee is driving me crazy. I told them I wanted to print up name badges---my computer, ink, printer, time (It was only $40 for the plastic badges)... I got "IDK, let me think about it"... then ppl wanted a memorial for the dead classmates, I was told, "I'm not sure, I'll get back to you". Then I wanted to do a slideshow--MY laptop connected to MY TV which would cost nothing--- "That's a nice idea, but we should wait on it".

So now I have done everything MY way. And the next reunion, I don't mind doing the same.. but will do it without other ppl's input. I dont even mind putting out a couple hundred dollars to have a great time... but there is NO WAY I was going to put my name on that sham of a bar they rented that was basically "lets meet at a bar and hang out" Instead of a true reunion with real food, music, decorations, door prizes.. and dare I say ... CHAIRS AND TABLES for everyone?? lol

Wow... I dont have any kids either... have traveled the world, have plenty of freedom, have a GORGEOUS car that most envy. I have everything I want. I wouldnt have done/had these things if I had kids. call it selfish if u want.

Most of my class is on FB, and we really get along.. so it won't be the typical "catch up" because we have done that for the most part.

One even wrote to the class president, "Kirsten wouldnt sell me a ticket. She is a horrible person, and taking my HS bf to the reunion even tho she is engaged to chris! REALLY??? come on! First... Chris KNOWS that i am taking someone else (even knows the guy). Second, Chris STILL might actually be able to get leave... it was approved then rescinded after the 9/11 attackes. (Chris was in our class too, so even if i take a date, he can go on his own). Third.. WTF does a crush 20yrs ago have to do with anything TODAY???? and Finally--- she's going to the damn bahamas, so why should i sell her a ticket???

I just dont get ppl!!! This is why i have no friends... i dont want to be around bullshit! LOL

I'd be surprised if you weren't already but keep good records of what you collected and what you spent. I set up a separate checking account to put all the money I collected and write checks to pay for the expenses. There was a little money left over that I used to reimburse others on "the committee" for things they paid for out of pocket. In the end, I myself was only out about $30. BTW, know the definition of "committee"? It's a life form with at least six legs and no brain.
