    So what's your take on it.

    If you're advantaged, does that fact that someone else isn't or may even be poor, affect or shape your thoughts about them?

    If you're not advantaged (wealthy), does the fact that someone else is affect or shape your thoughts about them?

    I'm in the evaporating middle. Some people at the top are completely out of touch with the realities of life just as much as some at the bottom think the rest of us owe them a living.

    I may add that I have never gone hungry except for a fast of my own choosing. I have never been homeless, except a couple times traveling thru third world countries when I couldn't get a room for the night or a bus outta town (Mexico and Iran)

    But I have lived in third world existence without the amenities we take for granted - guess I have shared poverty to an extent. Even had discussions about it in 1970 with other 'middle class' dropouts living in the Fillmore ghetto in San Francisco. What economic class were we - trying to scrounge the weekly rent with sporadic jobs and dealing a little.

    It never makes a difference in how I treat them right off the bat. But some people who are rich are so out of touch, like Al said. Then there are those who are struggling yet waste their money on junk and that annoys the hell out of me.
