    If you had to check into the hospital for some reason, would you be comfortable with a med student/intern treating you?

    By the time they get to that point they should be trusted to know what they are doing. And, there should be a practicing doctor checking their work.

    I have gone to doctors affiliated with teaching hospitals and been seen by med students. It is kinda informative having them discuss your issues right there, you pick up more yourself.

    The only thing I didn't care for was the prostate digital exam DONE TWICE! Shocked

    I also ratted out the med student because he didn't really palpate my prostate (guys know when it is touched).

    Eh. Maybe. It depends on how well my regular physician endorsed him or her, and how good his or her bedside manner is.

    As long as they were supervised but I'd still rather not be the one upon whom they learn to insert a Foley catheter.

    Mixed feelings about it. I think they do have to learn. But having gotten a spinal from one many years ago who just couldn't seem to get it right left a lifetime memory for me. I can laugh now but it wasn't very funny back then. There needs to be a doctor present who is also going to step in with something other than "we need to try this again..oops..sorry."

    I'd prefer not to, even with a doctor's supervision. Medical care is already bad enough--I don't have the time or patience to be someone's experiment.
